While El Pulpo is not a traditional Mexican Lotería image, we decided to add it to our collection and explore our own direction with it. The Octopus is one of the most intelligent and misunderstood creatures on earth. This design speaks to the “depths of the unknown” that one must investigate in order to uncover the “leviathan of truth”. Through science and exploration, we gain knowledge yet accept there are no absolute truths, and when faced with the unknown, we must continue to practice due diligence.
